Kind of like believing the hype…..if you did your taxes with a box this season and got charged some fee you didn’t expect…..well…..did your tax preparer tell you there’s a difference between itemized deductions and standard deduction? So…..Do-It-Yourself Box Prep suggested you file a return through them and they’d charge you a fee that’s deductible on your tax return….but then you find out it’s a useless “deduction” because your standard deduction….which you always get…is more anyhow…BINGO! You’ve just been ripped off! Next season…either find a live body to do the return or go to irs.gov….which has many FREE options for you.
THERE IS SUCH A THING AS DIGNITY IN TAX PREPARATION.
